Chaardham Wedding Invitation – A Temple in Your Hands
The couple comes from a deeply religious family and wanted their wedding invitation to reflect their devotion. They wished to include all four sacred Hindu pilgrimages, known as the Chaardham, as they plan to begin their married life by visiting these holy places.
That thought gave birth to this special wedding card—not just an invitation, but a blessing in itself. Each side of the card represents one temple of the Chaardham. At the center, we placed a beautiful idol of Lord Ganesha, the first deity to be worshipped before any auspicious occasion.
This invitation is designed to last a lifetime. Made of MDF, it is strong and durable, so it can be kept as a miniature temple in the home. Guests can even worship Lord Ganesha in it. The drawer below has space for a matchbox and other small pooja items, and a little bell detail completes the divine touch. It completes the whole routine when someone enters the temple and rings the bell first and then starts the chanting. We have taken care of the bell material also and hence these bells are made of metal. It is not just an invitation—it is a memory, a temple, and a blessing that will stay with the family forever.
Details of the Card
1. The Outer Facade – The Gates to Chaardham
The outer design is inspired by the four temples of the Chaardham. Each side carries the beauty and essence of one pilgrimage:
Side 1 – Dwarkadhish Temple (Gujarat): Multi-tier domes and golden bells remind us of the devotion that fills Dwarka, the land of Lord Krishna.
Side 2 – Kashi Vishwanath Temple (Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh): The golden spire and ghat patterns bring alive the aura of Varanasi, where Lord Shiva grants liberation.
Side 3 – Jagannath Puri Temple (Odisha): With its golden spire and detailed carvings, it reflects the sanctity of Lord Jagannath’s abode.
Side 4 – Ramanathaswamy Temple (Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu): Inspired by the gopuram and long pillared corridors, this side carries the spiritual depth of Lord Shiva’s southern dham.
2. Brass Handle and the Lock:
The Brass handle at the top and the locks on both the sides are used thoughtfully to give a feel of temple’s gate handles and locks simultaneously.
3. Inside the Card—Lord Ganesha at the Center
When the card opens at the heart sits Lord Ganesha, crafted in ivory-white with golden ornaments and a crown, bringing blessings of prosperity and good fortune. Behind him are beautifully cut golden jaali frames, representing temple gateways and uniting all four dhams.
4. The Wedding Invitation Slip—A Sacred Scroll
On one side, a smooth slider reveals the w-edding details. Instead of a simple card, the information is presented on a circular mandala frame with golden designs. The typography resembles temple inscriptions, beginning with a prayer, followed by the couple’s names and ceremony details.
5. The Craftsmanship—Blending Tradition and Modern Design
This card features a realistic temple facade, gold jaalis, shimmering metallic foils, 3D assembly, and a luxurious slider mechanism of drawer, enhancing its depth and richness.
Receiving this invitation feels like taking a spiritual journey. Guests first see the temples and then uncover to receive Lord Ganesha’s blessings, and finally discover the sacred wedding details.
